We at Bouygues are looking for a Hiab Operative the main purpose of the role is to carry out highway lighting maintenance on existing highway electrical equipment and new installations across Cheshire West and Chester\'s Highway Network. As a HIAB Operative you will be working as part of a team installing Street Lighting Columns, posts, Traffic bollards, ducting and associated electrical equipment as required. We are looking for someone in the Winsford Cheshire area.

Main Job Responsibilities:

  • Work in accordance with agreed programmes / schedules installing Street lighting equipment and carrying out a variety of tasks as instructed by your supervisor.
  • Form part of an out of hours Emergency Standby Rota Participating in driving and operating the Hiab or other equipment as qualified and skilled to do so.
  • Accurate completion of documentation on both electronic devices and paperwork, job sheets including other relevant documentation
  • To ensure that all work complies with the NRSWA legislation and ensure Traffic Management is deployed at each site accordingly.
  • To ensure that all works are adequately protected and the safety of the workforce, public and vehicles is maintained at all times.
  • To fulfil Health & Safety responsibilities by adherence to the requirements of the Company\'s Health & Safety Policy and Health & Safety Management Plans
  • To undertake such other duties appropriate to the level and character of work as may reasonably be required within the Department / Service.
  • To work off the Cheshire and Chester West Term Maintenance Contract at various other sites within the northwest as and when required.
Skills required for this role:
  • Class 2 HGV licence
  • Hiab / Crane Certificate
  • Abrasive wheels
  • Signal slinger
  • Must possess a full UK driving licence.
  • Participation in Call Out / Standby Rota for Out of Hours for Emergency Work will be Mandatory and form part of their role.

  • ECS Card
  • First Aid ( St Johns )
  • NRSWA Units 1 to 6 ( hot lay not essential )] First Aid ( St Johns )
  • G39 certification
  • Abrasive wheels
