Job Description

Due to our continuing growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a High Voltage O&M Engineer to join our growing team of professionals. This position is approximately 70% site based, and 30% office based. The work will include travel to locations throughout England and the rest of the UK as required.

Responsibilities will include electrical operations and maintenance activities (LV and HV) on various sites throughout the UK.

The appropriate candidate will be rewarded with a salary commensurate with the level of knowledge, experience, and qualifications they possess.

This role is ideal for somebody with a strong electrical background, but we will offer the additional training required for specialist activities.

Duties:



To carry out operation, maintenance, installation, fault finding and repairs on electrical (LV/HV) and mechanical systems associated with private generator connections. Senior Authorised Person Duties up to 132kV, and possibly higher to 400kV Manage electrical safe systems of work on operational sites such as wind farms, solar farms and BESS sites. Producing risk assessments and method statements for operation and maintenance tasks. Travel throughout England and the UK on a regular basis for a period of up to 5 days at a time dependent on business requirements. Ensuring works are compliant with applicable regulations and best industry practices. Provide emergency (standby) response. Producing technical reports. Auditing of HV/LV electrical installations.

Essential Requirements:



An apprenticeship or an equivalent formal training programme in an engineering discipline. HNC in Electrical Engineering. Previously held HV authorisation up to 33kV and at least 5 years operational experience. Understanding of health and safety legislation in the UK and how it applies to electrical works. Ability to read detailed electrical drawings along with problem solving skills necessary for electrical fault finding and repair. IT literate with the ability to carry out effective report writing using Office applications. Ability to confidently liaise with team members, customers, and suppliers. Full UK Driving License and willingness to travel throughout the UK.

Desirable Requirements:



High Voltage experience up to 132kV with previously held authorisation. High Voltage experience up to 400kV with previously held authorisation. HV Control Engineer experience with previously held authorisation. Experience of delivering training to HV operational staff. Experience of project engineering/management. Experience of working in the renewables sector. Knowledge of CDM requirements. Experience of incident investigation and reporting. Managing jobs/contracts up to a value of 100k.
