Job Description

To effectively support the day-to-day operation, development and security of IT systems across the DELI LITES business, while undertaking a structured Higher Level Apprenticeship programme leading to a recognised IT qualification.

Your Duties:




Support the IT Manager and wider team in maintaining day-to-day IT operations across the business. Assist with first-line support for hardware, software, and network issues, ensuring timely and professional resolution. Help with the setup, installation and configuration of computers, mobile devices, printers and other equipment for new starters and existing users. Monitor system performance and assist in identifying and troubleshooting technical issues under supervision. Support user account management, permissions and software licensing in line with internal policies. Participate in the maintenance of IT asset inventories and help ensure IT documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Help maintain system security by applying updates, patches, and supporting cybersecurity awareness efforts. Collaborate with other departments on digital transformation initiatives and assist in the rollout of new tools or platforms. Attend college/university as required by your Higher Level Apprenticeship and complete all assignments and coursework on time. Be proactive in your learning, taking part in training, mentoring, and real-world projects to grow your technical and professional skills.

Required Skills and Competencies:




Enrolled (or eligible to enrol) in a recognised Higher Level Apprenticeship in IT or Computing (e.g. Cybersecurity, Software Development, Infrastructure, or Technical Support). Minimum of Level 3 qualification (e.g. A-Levels, BTEC Extended Diploma, or equivalent) in a relevant subject area. Demonstrable interest in technology, problem-solving and IT systems. Good communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in plain language. A methodical, organised approach and strong attention to detail. Willingness to learn and take on new challenges in a fast-paced business environment. Awareness of confidentiality and data protection responsibilities. Ability to manage time effectively to meet both work and academic commitments.
