About the role



This role has a variety of key impacts.

To provide high-quality, personalized learner-centered support for students at Sheffield College.

To lead a small team of Learning Support Workers in supporting Teaching, Learning and Assessment. ISHLTA will contribute to inclusive education by delivering targeted support across a range of specialist programs that support Engagement in Education and Preparation for Adulthood.

To work with teaching and support teams to review student progress and capture progress against EHCP outcomes and personal targets.


There are multiple positions available for this post. A range of working hours will be considered.



Main responsibilities:


Support the transition and onboarding of students with an EHCP, SEN or other inclusion needs to successfully apply to and enrol at TSC. Support transition activities and ensure consistent support across curriculum areas as needed. Assist with the development and implementation of Individual Inclusive Teaching Plans (IILPs), Education Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), and personalised support strategies. Provide advanced classroom support for learners, including those with special educational needs, disabilities (SEND), and/or learning support needs. Plan and deliver targeted interventions and structured learning sessions to small groups or individuals, under the guidance of teaching staff. Support students across a range of specialist curriculum programs, centered around Preparation for Adulthood. Supporting students to understand living a Healthy life, being confident in their Community, Living Independently and having a career. Monitor and report on learner progress, behaviour, and engagement to relevant staff and support teams. Work in partnership with teaching staff, curriculum teams, and external professionals to promote inclusive practice. Contribute to the promotion of a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment that reflects The Sheffield College's values. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of further education frameworks, SEND, inclusive teaching strategies, and safeguarding procedures.

As the successful candidate, you will be offered a salary of between 27,654 - 32,272 per annum based upon a combination of the skills, knowledge and experience that you can bring to the role.
