Orange Tree School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic
In this varied role, you will provide high-quality learning support to pupils across the school, deliver interventions, support Learning Support Assistants (LSAs), and step up as a Cover Supervisor when needed to deliver pre-prepared lessons in the absence of the class teacher. You will also take responsibility for a form group, supporting the induction and wellbeing of students.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children and young people thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
We are looking for someone who:
Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Is calm, resilient, and able to build strong relationships with young people
Can lead by example and work collaboratively with colleagues
Has experience working with children or young people, ideally in an SEN or SEMH setting
Has (or is willing to work towards) HLTA status or equivalent qualification

Key Responsibilities
You will:
Work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils
Promote pupils' independence, self-esteem, and social inclusion
Support pupils so they can access the curriculum, take part in learning, and experience success
Help coordinate LSA duties, rotas, and cover arrangements
Deliver intervention programmes, including planning, timetabling, and monitoring impact
Lead a form group and support the student induction process
Maintain high standards and expectations, fostering a nurturing, holistic, and student-centred environment
Supervise lessons during teacher absence, ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment.
Deliver pre-prepared lessons and manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
Support pupils with additional needs through targeted interventions and tailored learning activities.
Assist in planning, delivering, and evaluating therapy programmes and educational strategies.
Monitor pupil progress and contribute to reports, annual reviews, IEPs, and EHCPs.
Promote inclusion, support behaviour management, and help pupils achieve their full potential.
Communicate effectively with staff, families, and external professionals, ensuring collaborative support for each learner.
