We have an incredible new opportunity for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join Landau. As a HLTA, you will work under the direction of the lead tutor, and work cooperatively with other learning and support staff, the post holder will support the teaching delivery and will at times teach small groups or learners 1:1 as required

Key responsibilities will include:

Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities for individual learners and small groups and support with specific interventions e.g reading or writing support

Assess, record and report on learners' progress.

Work to establish supportive relationships with learners, parents and carers in order to facilitate effective communication and partnership

Carrying out pre-determined educational activities and work programmes ensuring that specific guidelines are followed whilst promoting independent learning to support the learner's understanding and engagement

Support learners to develop emotional and physical resilience to enable them to make progress towards their career and life goals

Promote and reinforce learners' self-esteem and encourage learners to maximise their achievement and development

Attend planning meetings and under the overall direction and guidance of the lead tutor, contribute to the short, medium and long term planning and preparation of sessions and activities

Support the lead tutor in selecting and preparing teaching resources that meet the learners' needs and interests. Liaise with the lead tutor to devise complementary learning activities

Monitor, assess and record learner's work as directed by the tutor

Attending and contributing to learner review meetings with tutor and support staff in order to support the monitoring and development of the learner where appropriate

Being aware of confidential issues linked to learner/home and personal situations and to adhere to Safeguarding and Confidentiality Policies and Procedures

To support with the learner Behaviour Management Policy and to be a good role model for learners and families

To work within the framework of all Landau Policies and Procedures

Support with preparation of folders for external moderation

Support with examinations including invigilation duties

Technical competency (qualifications and training)

HLTA qualification D

PTTLS or AET Level 3

Experience

Teaching support in a secondary education environment D

Pastoral support D

Supporting learners with SEN D

Some knowledge of supporting young people with mental health issues D

Hours: 36.5 hours per week

Salary: 24,360-25,725 per annum
