Summary
We are seeking a passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Emscote School in Warwick. This role is vital in supporting our students' educational journeys and ensuring they receive the personalized attention they need to thrive. Your contributions will directly impact our mission of providing quality alternative education. The role is to support students by leading and supervising learning within the classroom. Working with students on an individual, small group or whole class basis. To provide a supportive framework for individual and group intervention where necessary. The nature of the role is such that flexibility and self-motivation are crucial to success.
Staff are required to adhere to all Emscote School Policies and Procedures, must comply with legislation and school policies relating to discrimination. They are required to promote anti-discrimination practices in all interactions with students and colleagues and demonstrates and promotes an understanding and appreciation of difference in personal characteristics, belief system and cultures.
Responsibilities
Assist teachers in delivering engaging lessons tailored to individual student needs.
Provide support to students with special educational needs and disabilities.
Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Help manage classroom behavior and promote student engagement.
Work closely with students on a one-to-one basis or in small groups.
Support the development of individualized education plans (IEPs).
Communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals involved in student care.
Participate in training and development opportunities as required.
Qualifications
Experience working in special education or similar environments.
Strong understanding of teaching methodologies and child development.
Ability to work effectively with children, including those with disabilities and autism.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Patience, empathy, and a passion for helping others succeed.
Relevant qualifications in education or child development are preferred.
