Sense Education is looking for a dedicated and compassionate HLTA to support pupils with social, communication and behavioural needs in a nurturing and inclusive school environment. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a real difference in the lives of young learners who need a little extra support to thrive.

The Role

You will be working with pupils who require additional support with their learning, communication and behaviour. The role will involve working both one-to-one and in small groups, delivering targeted interventions, supporting classroom teachers and teaching assistants . Your presence will be key in creating a positive and consistent learning experience for pupils who may face daily challenges in their educational journey.

The Ideal Person

The successful candidate will be confident, patient and enthusiastic with a strong understanding of SEND. You will need:

A recognised HLTA qualification Experience working with children who have social, communication and behavioural needs Excellent communication skills A calm and consistent approach to behaviour management The ability to build strong relationships with pupils, staff and families

The School

This is a welcoming and supportive school located in Whitehaven, known for its inclusive approach and commitment to every child's individual development. The staff work collaboratively to create a safe, respectful and inspiring learning environment for all.

Hours

Monday to Friday, 8.30am - 3.30pm

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available.
