We are looking for a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team at the Peile Centre, based at Chantry Academy in Ipswich. The Peile Centre supports Key Stage 3 and 4 students with Cognition and Learning difficulties or Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD). We work with small groups of students who have EHCPs and require a more personalised level of support than mainstream education alone can offer.
This is a key role in helping to maintain a calm, consistent, and nurturing environment where students can thrive. The successful candidate will work closely with teaching staff to deliver tailored learning, lead small group and 1:1 interventions, and actively contribute to positive outcomes for all learners.
Strong communication skills and the ability to build respectful, trusting relationships with students, families, and colleagues are essential. An understanding of how to promote independence, resilience, and emotional wellbeing in young people is highly valued.
This role would suit someone who is patient, reflective, committed to inclusive practice, and passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people who need additional support.
Visits and informal conversations are warmly welcomed, please contact: hannah.Gadie@easterneducationgroup.ac.ukfor more information.
