Waldo Williams Primary School is a vibrant and diverse school community where all stakeholders are committed to ensuring pupils have the tools and experiences to be as successful as possible.

We are seeking a committed and compassionate HLTA to support refugee and migrant families as they settle into school and community life.

The successful candidate will lead targeted learning activities to support pupils' language development, well-being, and academic progress. Working closely with teachers, families, and Pembrokeshire County Council's Resettlement & Migration Support Team, the HLTA will play a key role in helping children access education and feel confident in school.

The role includes working with individuals, small groups, and sometimes whole classes. There will be regular liaison with families, use of translation tools to share information, and coordination of after-school activities for pupils and their older siblings. Part of the role will involve travel to other schools or occasional home visits.

Applicants should have HLTA status (or be willing to work towards it), experience working with primary-aged pupils or vulnerable families, and strong communication and ICT skills. Experience supporting refugee families is desirable.
