We are recruiting a Highly Specialised Practitioner Psychologist/ CBT Therapist, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Lead to join the Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin NHS Talking Therapies Service.
Welcome! The Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin NHS Talking Therapies Service is a busy caring team consisting of Administration staff, PWPs, CBT Practitioners, and Counsellors. We deliver Talking Therapies to the people of Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin which has exciting, diverse and growing modern towns, surrounded by the stunning Shropshire countryside.
Our NHS Talking Therapies team is a great place to work. We are a featured service in the national LGBTQI+ good practice guide for TTAD services. We have also invested in specialist PWPs to improve community engagement with minoritised communities.
Working as part of the clinical leadership team, you will provide Clinical supervision, provide therapy to your own caseload, and influence, through credible clinical leadership, the EDI strategy of the service.
You will work closely with the Clinical lead to continue to improve the quality of the service provided.
The post holder will hold specific expertise in CBT and another modality of psychological therapy at a Highly Specialised level (EMDR desirable) and will also provide clinical leadership to the service on the application of CBT and psychological interventions within a lens of cultural competency. The post holder will work alongside other Highly Specialised Psychological professionals and take strategic direction from the Clinical Lead. The post holder will be responsible for ensuring the systematic provision of a high-quality specialist TTAD psychological therapy service to clients with common mental health problems from minoritised communities and they will ensure supervision is culturally competent and through the lens of anti discriminatory practice models (e.g. social GGRRAAACCEEESSS) and clinical pathways meet the requirements of the TTAD model and the evidence base.
The post holder will assist the Clinical Lead & Strategic Operational Lead to utilise delegated responsibility as appropriate in ensuring the effective high quality clinical functioning of the service. To supervise and support the psychological assessment and therapy provided by High Intensity CBT therapists primarily, but also include other clinical members of the team who provide psychologically based care and treatment.
The post holder will interface with other providers and will be a visible EDI lead for staff across the footprint.

1. Provide clinical leadership for Cognitive Behaviour Therapy and associated consultation, training and clinical supervision to other team members.
2. Provide evidence based psychological therapy within your specified modality to a more complex clinical population, that cannot be met in a standard TTAD pathway, but still meet the 'top end' criteria for NHS Talking Therapies.
3. To provide clinical leadership to the service and operate within the senior leadership team
4. Provide clinical supervision to Band 7 high intensity therapists and community development PWPs.
5. Ensure services meet the national competency frameworks, ensuring workforce compliance with NICE approved therapies and relevant psychological therapy / supervision competency frameworks (e.g Roth & Pilling).
6. With the clinical lead, provide a quality feedback framework, by inputting to incident report reviews, critical incidents and serious incident reports, providing feedback and supporting staff, whilst assisting in identifying themes for improvements.
7. Contribute to the implementation of specialist area pathways and provide ongoing monitoring.
8. Engage in research and audit activity within the services, providing a point of contact and a conduit to research colleagues.
9. To propose and implement policy changes within the area served by the team/service.
10. To provide supportive clinical leadership to engage and support the workforce in providing effective therapies that engage with individual formulations and treatment goals.
11. Providing a specific area of expertise to case discussions and promoting psychological thinking within multiagency meetings and conversations.
12. Deputise for the clinical lead, when required and on a rotational basis.
