We are looking for an experienced civils operative/groundworker to join our team, who must be able/capable of driving a 7.5t vehicle with additional towing capability. The candidate will need previous highways experience.

Works will be transient (short duration) and based in Essex.

Will be based out of our Chelmsford Depot.

The Civils Operative/ Groundworks key responsibilities will consist of:

To ensure that the safety of colleagues and the public at all times Site Set-up including signage, guarding and barrier Excavations and installing supports General groundworks and reinstatements Asphalt Laying Drainage repairs and installs. Kerb and edging installation Slab Laying Trenching and laying ducts/building chambers. A Commitment to health and safety, including compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as the applicable regulations Communicating back to the site supervisor/contracts manager and able to understand instructions and deliver works accordingly.
Essential required skills and knowledge:

Full Clean UK driver's license and CSCS card with 7.5t vehicle capability. NRSWA Streetworks Appropriate NPORS or CPCS qualification suited to trade. Previous experience working on a Civils team or in Highway Groundworks/Asphalt Surfacing, with familiarity with all Tools and equipment to undertake such works.
Desirable skills and knowledge:

Good communication skills and able to complete daily site paperwork / risk assessments.
