We are seeking a motivated and personable Hire Controller and Tool Sales Assistant to join our team. This role involves assisting customers with tool and equipment hire and sales, providing exceptional customer service, and supporting the sales process to ensure a positive shopping and hire experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in power tool and accessories sales, excellent communication skills, and previous experience for helping customers find the right tools for their needs. This position offers an opportunity to promote and maintain our shop and gain experience in Plant & Tool Hire, within a busy construction based environment.
Responsibilities
Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting power tools, hand tools and equipment suited to their projects
Provide knowledgeable advice on product features, usage, and benefits to enhance customer satisfaction
Process sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system
Maintain a clean and organized set of product displays and ensure shelves are stocked with available inventory.
Answer customer enquiries both in person and via phone or email promptly and professionally
Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and assisting with restocking/ordering as required
Promote special offers, new products, and store promotions to maximize sales opportunities
Assist and be willing to support and learn all aspects of our hire fleet, for Plant & Tool Hire.
Qualifications
Prior experience in customer service, hire or merchant sales would be an advantage
Strong interpersonal skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Good knowledge of tools or willingness to learn about product features and applications
Dependable, organized, and attentive to detail
Computer systems are used in our day to day running of the business, and experience would be an advantage
This role is ideal for individuals passionate about sales and customer service who are eager to grow their skills within a supportive team environment.
