The Role
As a Hire Controller, you will be the central point of contact for customers looking to hire forklifts and related equipment. You'll coordinate hire bookings, schedule deliveries and collections, manage availability, office admin, and help ensure our customers receive a smooth and efficient service.
Key Responsibilities
Handle incoming hire enquiries via phone and email
Prepare hire quotes, process bookings, and raise associated paperwork
Schedule deliveries, collections, and site visits
Monitor fleet availability and update internal systems accordingly
Liaise with the workshop team to ensure equipment is prepared and maintained
Build strong relationships with new and existing customers
Resolve customer queries quickly and professionally
Support the service team, allocating jobs to engineers/running service diary when required
About You
Previous experience in a hire, logistics, or service-coordinator role (materials handling experience an advantage but not essential)
Strong organisational and multitasking skills
Confident communicator with excellent customer-service skills
Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Competent using computer systems
A team player with a positive, solutions-focused attitude
