This role involves the servicing, maintenance, fault-finding, and commissioning of HIUs within residential and commercial buildings. Candidates must be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating a proactive approach to diagnosing technical issues, providing high-quality workmanship, and delivering excellent customer service.
Duties
Service, maintain, diagnose, and repair a range of Heat Interface Units (HIUs) to ensure optimal performance
Conduct inspections and performance assessments of communal heating and district heating systems
Carry out HIU commissioning, ensuring systems operate efficiently and in line with specifications
Utilise plumbing and mechanical skills to complete reactive and planned maintenance tasks
Replace, assemble, and disassemble HIU and system components with precision and accuracy
Identify faults, determine root causes, and implement effective engineering solutions
Record accurate job notes, photographs, and asset data via digital job management systems
Follow all safety protocols when handling tools, equipment, and mechanical components
Attend breakdowns and provide technical support to clients, residents, and contractors
Collaborate with team members on complex heating or mechanical projects to meet deadlines
Operate company vehicle for site visits, installations, and maintenance duties
Skills
Strong mechanical and plumbing knowledge, specifically relating to HIUs, heating systems, and pipework
Ability to diagnose and resolve HIU performance issues efficiently
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
Ability to interpret technical drawings, heating schematics, and system layouts
Competence in basic maths for measurements, calculations, and reporting
Experience working safely with mechanical systems and in residential plant environments
Excellent problem-solving skills with a methodical and organised approach
Strong communication and customer-service abilities
Full UK driving licence
required (commercial licence beneficial but not essential)
Industry qualifications (NVQ Level 2/3 Plumbing & Heating, G3 Unvented, WRAS) are advantageous

Pay: 15.00-45.00 per hour
