Job Overview

We are seeking a Hod Carrier/Bricklayers Labourer to join a construction team on a new build project in Christchurch. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in masonry work, demonstrating proficiency in mixing mortar and moving bricks, as well as any improving work. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

Mix mortar and other materials as required for specific projects. Ensure that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety. Repair or replace damaged brickwork as needed. Maintain tools and equipment in good working order. Collaborate with other tradespeople on-site to ensure project timelines are met. Follow health and safety regulations at all times.

Skills

Proficient in masonry techniques and practices. Strong understanding of building codes and safety regulations. Excellent attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship. Good physical fitness and stamina for manual labour tasks. Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure. Effective communication skills for teamwork and collaboration. Previous experience in construction or masonry is preferred but not essential for motivated individuals willing to learn.

Job Type: Temporary
Contract length: 24 months

Pay: 17.00-18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 45 per week
