Job Summary

We are seeking a labourer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in masonry work, demonstrating proficiency in loading bricks, blocks, and stone to construct and repair structures. The Brick Mason will be responsible for ensuring that all work is loaded and cleaned up to high standards of quality and safety while adhering to project timelines.

Duties

Load bricks, blocks, and stone according to specifications and drawings. Mix mortar and other materials as required for various projects. Cut and shape bricks using hand tools or power tools to fit specific designs. Ensure the structural integrity of walls, arches, and other masonry elements. Collaborate with other construction professionals to ensure seamless project execution. Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following health and safety regulations. Perform repairs on existing masonry structures as needed. Keep accurate records of materials used and work completed.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Brick Mason or similar role in construction. Strong knowledge of masonry techniques and materials. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings. Excellent manual dexterity and physical stamina for lifting heavy materials. Familiarity with safety procedures related to construction sites. Attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality workmanship. Good communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
Candidates with additional skills such as experience in stone masonry or knowledge of building codes will be considered an advantage. A valid driver's licence is preferred but not essential.
