experienced, organised, and confident Camp Manager
to oversee the day-to-day running of our holiday camps. You will be the
overall lead on site
, responsible for the children and staff across the three camp programmes: Performing Arts, Multi-Sports, Early Years.
The Camp Manager sets the tone for camp -- ensuring it runs smoothly, children are safe and happy, staff are supported, and parents feel confident leaving their children with us. This role requires someone who is
self-motivated, calm under pressure, and confident in safeguarding practices
, with the ability to manage a large team and maintain high standards across all areas.
Responsibilities
Provide
overall leadership
for all camps, ensuring the smooth and safe running of daily operations.
Manage and support the Team Leads, and Activity Leaders/Assistants.
Oversee
all safeguarding and welfare
- acting as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and ensuring concerns are logged and followed up correctly.
Act as the
main point of contact for parents
: completing handovers, registers, sign in/sign out times, resolving concerns, and ensuring positive communication.
Lead daily staff briefings and debriefings, setting clear expectations and maintaining team morale.
Monitor registers, staffing ratios, and ensure health & safety requirements are met at all times.
Support behaviour management across all groups, stepping in when situations escalate.
Ensure high standards of activity delivery and base room set-up, offering coaching and feedback to staff.
Complete and oversee
all paperwork
including accident/incident reports, safeguarding logs, and Ofsted-required records.
Liaise with Fixation Academy Directors and communicate any concerns, incidents, or operational updates.
Model professionalism, friendliness, and approachability at all times.
Requirements
Proven experience managing staff
in an education, childcare, sports, or performing arts setting.
Strong background working with children (ages 3-11).
Excellent knowledge of
safeguarding and child protection procedures
, with the confidence to act on concerns and escalate appropriately.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
Paediatric First Aid certificate
Excellent
organisation, communication, and leadership skills
.
Patient, approachable, and confident working with children, staff, and parents.
Able to remain calm and solution-focused under pressure.
Self-motivated and reliable - able to run camp independently without constant oversight.
