The post offered is Holiday Club Manager at the Junior School. This is a 1-year fixed term contract.
The Holiday Club is designed to provide parents with high quality childcare on the school site to fit with the various demands of modern working life.
The main purpose of this post is to lead, organise and manage the Holiday Club team to ensure the safety, general welfare and conduct of children aged between 4 and 11 years of age. The Holiday club is open from 8am until 6.00pm and the successful candidate will ensure that the club provides a safe, supervised environment with a relaxed atmosphere. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Holiday Club Manager to be the founding leader of our new Holiday Club during school holidays. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a fun, safe, and enriching environment for our pupils during their school breaks.
Responsibilities
You will have a caring, engaging and patient approach to children aged between 4 and 11 years old, being friendly yet firm, valuing the importance of positive play.
Promote positive behaviour and good relationships between the children, having absolute regard to the safety and welfare of children on the school's premises.
Plan, coordinate, and deliver a range of engaging and age-appropriate activities for children aged 4-11. Monitor and evaluate the activates, making recommendations for future improvements.
Manage the setup of resources and equipment before the children arrive, including games and craft activities.
Ensure play equipment and resources are in good working order and requisition new items as necessary.
Ensure that staffing ratios per the School Supervision Policy are adhered to, ensuring that a member of the Junior Leadership team are promptly informed of any issues.
Ensure that the team deals sensitively and confidentiality with any pastoral or welfare issues.
Liaise with the Junior Leadership Team of the school regarding any incidents or issues that may arise, albeit these are very infrequent.
Ensure that parents are greeted when collecting their children giving a good impression of the School to parents at all times.
Manage the registers of children attending ensuring that they are completely up to date and consistent with information held by the bursary and daily form group registers.
Ensure that all children are registered in and out of the Holiday Club and that any children expected in the Holiday Club but failing to attend are promptly located.
Respond promptly to parents about new booking requests and amendments to existing bookings. Liaise with the bursary for changes to the register to ensure billing is correct.
Ensure the number of pupils registered each day do not exceed the agreed maximum numbers for the clubs. Manage waiting lists for permanent places.
Oversee the children's packed lunches, ensuring allergy rules are adhered to.
Ensure all staff on the team have up to date food hygiene training and catering procedures are followed.
Ensure compliance with the School Health and Safety Policy, including updating risk assessments and completing accident reports and inform parents and Junior Leadership team of any incidents. Ensure compliance with all safeguarding and data protection policies.
Ensure all members of the team have the correct uniform and reorder new uniform as necessary.
Undertake reviews for all staff in the Holiday Club team.
Attend meetings and training courses as may be required for personal and professional development and the development of the Holiday Club provision.
This role may require on occasion to work outside of core hours paid as overtime in agreement with the Head or Deputy Heads, for example attendance at the Junior School Open Day.
All staff are expected to uphold the values of the School by setting an example in attitudes, language and appearance.
All staff should promote the general purpose and well-being of the children in their care.
