About the role
As a Home Care Assistant, you will support our clients in their own homes, ensuring they receive the compassionate, high-quality care they deserve.

Your responsibilities will include:
Providing essential care and support to clients in accordance with their individual Care Plans.
Assisting clients with activities of daily living, including preparing simple meals, personal hygiene, grooming (hair care, shaving, etc.), mobility, and supporting clients with toileting needs (using the toilet, changing continence pads, and ensuring comfort and dignity at all times).
Administering prescribed medications accurately and in line with care plans and company policies (following appropriate training).
Providing end-of-life care: offering empathetic support to clients and their families during challenging times, ensuring comfort and dignity.
Maintaining excellent standards of documentation and note-taking on our care systems.
Performing housekeeping duties to help maintain a clean and safe environment for our clients.
Assisting with meal preparation and feeding when necessary.
Engaging clients in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation.
Monitoring and reporting any changes in clients' health or behaviour to your line manager or care coordinator.
Adhering to all health and safety requirements while carrying out your duties.
Other duties
Complete mandatory induction and participate in relevant learning and qualification programmes, with support from Care To You Healthcare.
Undertake in-house and external training appropriate to your role within agreed time frames.
Maintain confidentiality of information at all times.
Work within the policies, procedures and guidelines of Care To You Healthcare at all times.
Requirements
A full driving licence and access to a vehicle to travel to clients' homes in the West Sussex area.
Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
Ability to perform tasks that may involve manual handling.
Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with clients, families and colleagues with empathy and compassion.
Knowledge of good care practices, including safe medication administration (training will be provided).
Excellent attention to detail, including maintaining high standards of cleanliness and documentation.
Good time-management skills to prioritise tasks effectively in a dynamic work environment.
Understanding of health and safety guidelines.
Ability to work flexibly to meet the needs of our clients.
Commitment to complete all required training.
Readiness to travel to various locations within West Sussex.
