Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Care Worker to provide essential support to individuals in their homes. The ideal candidate will assist clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for those in need of care, including the elderly, individuals with disabilities, and those requiring specialised assistance.

Responsibilities

Provide personal care services including bathing, dressing, and grooming. Assist clients with mobility and transfers to ensure safety and comfort. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects. Support clients in daily activities such as meal preparation, light housekeeping, and companionship. Implement behaviour management techniques when necessary to promote a positive environment. Document client progress and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Engage clients in meaningful activities that promote mental and emotional well-being. Drive clients to appointments or social outings as required.

Skills

Experience in assisted living, nursing home settings, or hospice care is highly desirable. Proficient in first aid practices to ensure client safety. Knowledge of dementia care techniques to support clients effectively. Ability to manage behaviours sensitively and effectively. Experience in childcare can be beneficial for working with younger clients or families. Strong communication skills to build rapport with clients and their families. A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients as needed. A caring attitude with a commitment to providing high-quality care.
