We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Care Workers to provide essential support to individuals in their homes. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients, assisting them with daily activities, and ensuring their comfort and safety. This role requires a blend of practical skills and emotional intelligence to foster a supportive environment for those in need of care.
A current drivers licence and use of a vehicle is mandatory for this role
Responsibilities
Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or reactions.
Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
Support clients with mobility and physical activities to promote independence.
Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
Offer companionship and engage in meaningful conversations to enhance emotional well-being.
Implement behaviour management strategies as needed to support clients with specific needs.
Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any changes in client condition to appropriate personnel.
Ensure a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping duties as required.
Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including nurses, to coordinate care plans effectively.
Experience
Previous experience in home care, nursing homes, or hospice care is preferred but not mandatory.
Familiarity with first aid procedures and basic healthcare practices is advantageous.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others in need.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility in approach.
