Duties

Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support. Prepare nutritious meals according to dietary requirements and preferences. Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition. Develop and follow care plans tailored to individual client needs, ensuring continuity of care. Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering a positive environment for clients. Engage in case management activities, coordinating with healthcare professionals as necessary. Perform heavy lifting when required, assisting clients with mobility aids or during transfers. Offer specialised care for clients with dementia or other cognitive impairments, employing appropriate techniques to ensure safety and comfort. Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any significant changes in client health or behaviour to relevant parties.

Skills

Proficiency in heavy lifting techniques to safely assist clients with mobility challenges. Knowledge of first aid practices to respond effectively in emergencies. Experience working in a care home setting or providing home care services is advantageous. Familiarity with developing and implementing care plans tailored to individual needs. Skills in meal preparation that cater to specific dietary requirements and preferences. Competence in medication administration, ensuring adherence to prescribed regimens. Strong case management abilities, coordinating with healthcare providers for comprehensive client support. Experience in dementia care, employing specialised strategies for effective communication and engagement. A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients as needed.
