Self-Employed Home Delivery Drivers

to join our growing team across multiple depots.

The Role

As a delivery driver, you'll work as part of a two-person crew in a

Luton van

, delivering and collecting large household goods. You'll ensure each delivery is completed safely, professionally, and on time, while providing excellent customer service.

Typical day:

25-35 multi-drop deliveries to customers' homes, often with room-of-choice delivery and occasional basic assembly or installation.

Key Responsibilities

Safely drive and operate a

Luton van

on scheduled routes Load, unload, and deliver goods into customers' homes (room of choice) Use delivery aids such as sack barrows, straps, and lifting belts Record proof of delivery using handheld devices Perform daily vehicle checks and maintain van cleanliness Communicate clearly with customers, dispatch, and management Report any damages, delays, or issues promptly Always follow PPE and safety procedures

Requirements

Full UK driving licence (maximum 6 points) Enhanced DBS certificate (or ability to obtain one) Must pass drug and alcohol testing Valid commercial insurance (no cancelled or voided policies) Legal right to work in the UK Minimum 2 years of driving experience (commercial preferred) Start times between 5:30 AM and 8:00AM depending on route Physically fit and capable of handling heavy goods Must accept financial responsibility for insurance excess on at-fault incidents

Training and Onboarding

Practical, self-directed training with guidance from experienced drivers Support with travel and meals during the training period Successful trial candidates added to active rota

Performance and Accountability

To maintain client standards and service quality:

Careless damage or stock loss may result in deductions or removal from rota Property damage caused by negligence will result in repair cost deductions All incidents or near misses must be reported immediately Persistent policy breaches may lead to contract termination

Payment Details

Payment Schedule:

Twice monthly (2nd and 17th -- adjusted for weekends/bank holidays)

Rates:

110/day - up to 25 stops 120/day - up to 30 stops 130/day - up to 40 stops

After 6 months:

120/day - up to 30 stops 130/day - up to 35 stops

3-Person Routes:

110/day - up to 15 stops 120/day - up to 20 stops 130/day - up to 25 stops
Loyalty bonuses and customer tips may also apply.
Minimum term: 6 months (1-month notice after completion).
