Overview

We are seeking a Home Fragrance Assistant to join our growing candle manufacturing team. This role is primarily focused on handmade candle production, including pouring, finishing, and quality checking, but also requires the flexibility to support other areas of the business such as wax melts, carpet fresheners, labelling, and packing when needed.

Candle making is a highly detailed and methodical process, and care, consistency, and attention to detail are key to our success. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality products and enjoys hands-on work in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities

Candle Production:

Assist with the full candle-making process, including weighing, mixing, pouring wax, setting wicks, finishing, and curing candles to specification.

Product Preparation:

Measure raw materials accurately, following set recipes and production processes to ensure consistency and quality.

Quality Control:

Inspect candles, wax melts, and other products for imperfections, defects, or inconsistencies, ensuring all items meet our quality standards before packing.

Packaging & Labelling:

Label, assemble, and pack finished products for dispatch, ensuring presentation, accuracy, and care at all stages.

Adaptability:

Support other production areas when required, including wax melts, carpet fresheners, and general packing duties.

Housekeeping & Safety:

Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with colleagues to meet daily production targets and deadlines in a supportive team environment.

Skills and Experience

Attention to Detail:

Essential. Candle making is a meticulous process, and accuracy, care, and consistency are critical to the quality of our products.

Manufacturing / Production Experience:

Previous experience is beneficial but not essential. Full training will be provided.

Manual Dexterity & Patience:

Comfortable with repetitive, hands-on tasks that require focus and precision.

Physical Stamina:

Able to stand for extended periods and carry out production tasks throughout the day.

Time Management:

Reliable, punctual, and able to work to deadlines in a busy production environment.

Teamwork & Communication:

Works well as part of a team and communicates clearly with colleagues.

Basic Numeracy & Literacy:

Able to follow written instructions and accurately measure ingredients.

Safety Awareness:

Willingness to learn and follow health and safety procedures.
