Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team in providing high-quality care to individuals in various settings, including care homes, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. The ideal candidate will have experience in senior care and a strong understanding of patient care practices, including behaviour management and dementia care. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for our residents by offering personal support and assistance tailored to their individual needs.

Duties

Provide personal care and support to residents, ensuring their comfort and dignity at all times. Assist with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. Monitor and document residents' health and wellbeing, reporting any changes to the nursing staff. Engage residents in social activities and encourage participation to promote mental stimulation and emotional wellbeing. Implement behaviour management strategies as required to support residents with challenging behaviours. Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents by adhering to health and safety regulations. Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care plans are followed effectively. Uphold confidentiality and respect the rights of all residents at all times.

Requirements

Previous experience in a care home, nursing home, or assisted living environment is highly desirable. Knowledge of medical terminology related to patient care is beneficial. Understanding of dementia care principles and behaviour management techniques. Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with residents and their families. A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others. Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated. Flexibility to work various shifts as required by the needs of the service.
