Integra Insurance Solutions Ltd are an MGA based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, offering homeowner insurance products, specialist insurance schemes cover, as well as church and commercial insurance.

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Home Department as a Home Underwriter. We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate the required competencies to fulfil the role requirements.

Main role



To process in line with internal service standards and own limits of authority for the following tasks, including any other departmental tasks to assist the Chief Underwriting Officer Home (CUO)/Head of Technical Underwriting and Senior Underwriter: new business, renewals, midterm changes, endorsements, reinsurance, claim refers, potential misrepresentations and quotations To support the Head of Technical Underwriting and Senior Underwriters in dealing with non- escalated complaints in accordance with the limits of authority To answer internal and external telephone queries in line with internal service standards and own limits of authority To adhere to all departmental internal service standards, internal processes and procedures To support the Head of Technical Underwriting / Senior Underwriters by completing the daily and weekly work returns as and when required To process new and existing agency enquiries in line with internal service standards and own limits of authority To adhere to the Company's technical underwriting philosophies. Provide effective, economical and compliant underwriting services adhering to Consumer Duty and all other regularity bodies that the Company is required to comply with. To support the Chief Underwriting Officer Home (CUOH)/ Head of Technical Underwriting with any product and pricing development work, analysis of data for new business development and any additional departmental objectives/goals

Essential



Experience in home underwriting within the insurance industry. Ability to underwrite risks and liaise with Intermediaries, limit risk exposure by operating within agreed limits of authority and using effective underwriting methods, referring when appropriate. Proven experience in dealing with misrepresentations Ability to undertake analysis and product review. Ability to underwrite household policies. Ability to successfully work as part of a team and field high call volumes. Ability to communicate both verbally and written in an effective manner. A working knowledge of Word, Excel and Email. Excellent customer service skills and a good understanding of Consumer Duty. Highly accurate with good attention to detail Good time management. Confidence to communicate directly with customers

Desirable



ACII qualified or equivalent. Willing to study towards gaining professional qualifications. GCSE's or equivalent, in English and Mathematics. Flexibility A proactive approach to work

Principle Responsibilities



To process new business, agency work, renewals, mid- term changes, endorsements, reinsurance, quotations and other departmental tasks. To support the Head of Technical Underwriting / Senior Underwriters by reviewing and producing audits for all claim refers/responses and potential misrepresentations for referral and sign off. If a voidance is agreed a letter is to be drafted for sign off. To support the Head of Technical Underwriting Senior Underwriters with FCR and non-escalated complaints in accordance with the limits of authority by logging, producing an audit and drafting a letter for referral and sign off. To ensure work is processed in line with the departmental internal service standards and own limits of authority and that a daily work return is accurately completed. To underwrite household policies in accordance with guidelines and principals referring to the Head of Technical Underwriting/ Senior Underwriters where necessary. To support the Head of Technical Underwriting / Senior Underwriters in providing a referral escalation point to all members of staff within the claims department, referring where necessary. To undertake any analysis or product reviews as advised by the CUOH/ Head of Technical Underwriting to assist with the achievement of the departmental objectives/goals. To support the Chief Underwriting Officer Home (CUOH), Head of Technical Underwriting and Senior Home Underwriters with any task as advised, referring where necessary adhering to regulatory and information security requirements. To contribute to the development of effective communications with all other departments. Support the Home Underwriting team with any other additional tasks as and when required.
