We are pleased to be able to offer an exciting band 5 nursing role, to join our outstanding inpatient unit team, predominantly supporting with night shifts. You will be joining an innovative and passionate nursing team, where patient choice and holistic care are our priority.
You will have a passion and understanding of palliative care, bringing your enthusiasm for delivering high standards of quality care to our Hospice community. You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team providing symptom control and wellbeing support for patients with an associated life limiting condition and their families within our inpatient unit.
The successful candidate will work as a member of the multidisciplinary team to provide symptom control and end of life care to patients affected by life-limiting disease and support for their families. Your role would include the assessment, planning and implimentation of patient care, taking into consideration the holistic needs of the patient and Hospice guidelines, policies and standards.

The Must Haves:
oRegistered General Nurse (Level 1)
Evidence of Continuing Professional Development
Palliative care experience is desirable
Proven post registration nursing experience.
Proven experience of working effectively in a team.
Proven experience of using IT systems.
Good organisational skills.
Knowledge of symptom control desirable
Ability to perform assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Demonstrate an ability to supervise and support others.
Ability to work effectively in an emotionally demanding environment.
Caring and empathetic approach
Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
Good team player who is willing to support others/learn new skills
Ability to work with confidential sensitive information & understand boundaries and support others to work in this way
Excellent judgement and good decision making skills
Flexible working to defined shift patterns including weekend working
Confident under pressure
