As a Relief Pharmacist with us you'll be providing excellent customer and patient care, it's more than dispensing medicine, it's listening and providing your expert advice and reassurance. This role gives you the opportunity to work in a clinical setting, whilst occasionally working in community pharmacy.Delivering the pharmacy strategy through providing expert care and advice
Accountable for legal and ethical decisions in the pharmacy
Building the pharmacy capability of store teams
Conducting continual review through audit, observations and risk assessment to ensure customer and patient safety is paramount
Delivering a range of professional pharmacy services
Dispensing outpatient prescriptions that can only be fulfilled in hospital settings
Supporting hospital service improvement initiatives
Providing patient counselling and clinical advice
Working within a MDT (mutli-disciplinary team) across secondary care
What you'll need to have
To be successful in this role you will have a professional, caring character and a true desire to help us change for the better. In addition you will:Be registered with relevant pharmacy regulator (GPhC, PSNI, PSI)
Demonstrate high levels of professional expertise and be widely respected by stakeholders, peers, patients, customers and external local professionals
Have a passion for community pharmacy and providing the best care for our customers.
Keen to develop leadership skills and contribute to team strategy
Willing to learn and adapt in a dynamic hospital environment
Be collaborative with a team-centered approach
Have excellent knowledge of pharmacy operations and provisions of national and local services
Be a great communicator; able to put people at ease and effectively meet the varied needs of our customers and patients

Hospital Relief Pharmacist - Outpatient Department (OPD)
Location: Swindon General Hospital
Contract: Permanent, full-time (40 hours/week)
Schedule:
Monday-Friday: 9:00 AM-7:30 PM (8-hour shifts)
Sunday: 1 in 4 or 6 rotation, 9:00 AM-1:00 PM
Occasional bank holidays (flexible cover)
Be part of a team that values patient contact and delivers expert community care , within a clinical setting.
Work closely with cancer screening and oncology services
Funded Independent Prescribing (IP) course available
Four weeks training within the OP setting, with further training provided in Cancer Services
Join a well-supported team of four pharmacists and a large group of dispensers
