An exciting vacancy is available as a Hospitality Technician in the Hospitality department at Cardiff and the Vale College. This post will be based at the City Centre Campus, Cardiff.

Responsibilities include:

To assist lecturing staff in the preparation of equipment and products for theoretical and practical lessons. To maintain hygienic and safe standards of the practical work areas. To ensure that the practical areas are maintained in a clean and orderly condition at all times. To co-operate closely with the members of the teaching staff at all times in order to provide the necessary 'back-up' service and effective general organisation of students' practical tasks. To maintain strict control and security over all restaurant's resources including food and alcoholic beverages, cleaning materials, equipment and departmental facilities. To ensure food, beverages and other resources are stored correctly e.g. freezer, refrigerator, dry goods and cleaning materials. To maintain minimum and maximum stock levels of all consumable food and beverage stocks and, to re-order accordingly to ensure continuity of supply to practical classes. To prepare and issue all foodstuffs for all practical classes, as specified by the lecturer, and any supplementary orders that may occur on a daily basis. To receive all unused foodstuffs at the completion of all practical classes, to return to stock where appropriate, or arrange suitable disposal sustainably. Correct orders for next day delivery. Welsh language skills are not essential but would be desirable for this role.
