Location:

Penicuik Estate, Midlothian, Scotland

Start Date:

From 1st May 2025

Salary:

35,000 per annum, plus high-quality live-in accommodation

Hours:

Approximately 48 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

The Role:



We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Hospitality Host/Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of Penicuik House. This role offers a unique opportunity to work within a historic setting, delivering exceptional guest experiences that reflect the estate's ethos and heritage.

Key Responsibilities:



Guest Experience:

Create a welcoming and attentive atmosphere, ensuring guests have memorable experiences from arrival to departure.

Team Leadership:

Supervise and motivate front-of-house staff and coordinate with external contractors to maintain high service standards.

Food & Drink Preparation:

Prepare and serve a selection of snacks, light meals, and drinks that elevate the guest experience.

Operations Management:

Oversee reservations, prepare and serve food and beverages, and ensure all areas are impeccably maintained.

Event Coordination:

Liaise with external caterers, equipment hire companies, and other contractors to ensure seamless event execution, maintaining the estate's reputation for hosting memorable occasions.

Safety and Compliance:

Uphold fire, health, safety, and hygiene regulations, providing training as necessary.

Financial Oversight:

Manage guest billing, assist in budgeting, and monitor operational costs.

What We're Looking For:



Experience:

A minimum of 5 years in the hospitality industry, with at least 1-2 years in a managerial role, preferably within a high-end or boutique setting.

Skills:

Proficiency in food and beverage preparation, strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and familiarity with hospitality management software.

Attributes:

A positive and approachable demeanour, impeccable presentation, problem-solving capabilities, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service.
