Overview

We are seeking a friendly and professional Host to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and a commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences. As the first point of contact for our guests, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring smooth operations within the restaurant.

Duties

Greet guests warmly upon arrival and escort them to their tables. Manage reservations and seating arrangements to optimise guest flow. Provide menus and inform guests about daily specials or promotions. Maintain an organised waiting list during busy periods, ensuring timely seating for all guests. Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and servers to coordinate service. Handle phone inquiries with professionalism, providing information about the restaurant and taking reservations as needed. Assist with any guest requests or concerns, ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction. Uphold cleanliness and organisation at the host/host station and throughout the dining area.

Qualifications

Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, with a strong understanding of hospitality principles. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for interacting with guests and team members. Experience in guest services or hotel environments is an advantage. A friendly demeanour with the ability to remain calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Strong phone etiquette skills for handling reservations and inquiries professionally. A willingness to learn and adapt in a team-oriented setting, demonstrating flexibility as needed.
