Job Description

We are a well-known hotel group in Pitlochry and are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced accountant or book-keeper to join our busy Finance Department on a permanent basis.

This opportunity offers a variety of duties across the finance function from accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, cash management, budgeting & forecasts to financial analysis. This is an ideal opportunity for someone preferably with hotel accounting experience looking to join a dynamic and progressive organisation.

Objective of the Role



Reporting to the Hotel General Manager and Group Finance Director, the Hotel Accountant will provide financial management, reporting and oversight to the Hotel Management team

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Record and maintain all day to day financial transactions of the hotel on the hotel's financial software

Manage day to day banking needs of the hotel and update debtors ledger

. Manage accounts payable to include recording, reconciliation & management of the creditors ledger

Prepare and Analyse monthly management accounts.

Pro-active contribution to the overall property management and cost management.

Preparation of forecasts and annual budgets

Safeguard the assets of the hotel with particular emphasis on the maintenance of sound internal control systems.

Requirements:



You must be ambitious, confident and professional individual with strong communication, organisational, analytical and management skills.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate accounting experience, preferably in a hospitality, food & beverage environment or within the retail sector.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified or part qualified accountant.

Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.

Proven experience in an accountancy role.

Skills & Qualifications



A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, CAT and CA is an advantage but not required. Advanced/Higher Certificate (preferred) Demonstrated experience with hotel accounting systems (e.g., Opera, QuickBooks, Sage and Zero) Excellent verbal and written communication skills
