The Falmouth Hotel is one of Cornwall's best located hotels situated opposite Castle Beach with a spectacular view over the Falmouth Bay! The hotel consists of over 71 bedrooms forming different individual styles and views, along with our Castle View Restaurant & Bar, Leisure & Spa Facilities with indoor swimming pool along various events spaces which accommodates meetings, weddings and events.

The hotel is now part of The Cornwall Hotel Collection, a collection that stands at the heart of Cornish hospitality. Comprised of three hotels - The Alverton's historic hillside hideaway, The Greenbank's enchanting waterfront setting, and The Falmouth's iconic Victorian landmark - excellence lies at the heart of all that we do.

As part of our recruitment plans we are now looking to recruit a full time Bar Supervisor working on a full time basis working to the needs of the business reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager and Assistant Manager.

The position involves late nights and weekends and also due to the nature of the business will be required to work during peak seasonal holidays.

You will ideally have worked within a 4hotel bar at assistant or supervisory level or within another supervisory position within a food and beverage outlet. The position would suit a candidate looking a career development opportunity in line with our own business development.

Role & Responsibilities:



To assist and oversee the running of the hotel bars and management of a bar team across the operational bars within the hotel to include our main restaurant & lounge and event spaces.

To serve customers within the restaurant, bar and during functions and events, ensuring that an excellent service is provided consistently, meeting and exceeding customer expectations whenever possible.

To possess the ability to multi-task, ensuring that instructions and tasks are completed to time and to the recognized standard and by ensuring delegation of tasks are issued to your team.

Ensuring opening, closing, cleaning lists are installed throughout the department and trained out to the team.

The ability to work independently taking responsibility for operations assigned to your department and team along with the ability to work well within a team in a fast paced environment.

Ensure the team is at all times customer focused with excellent communication skills and personality and offering that excellence in overall service.

To promote table service in line with hotel expectations of a high end 4 star service.

You posses excellent and extensive beers, wines, spirits, cocktail knowledge and experience.

To assist with staff rotas are submitted weekly and costed to budget against hotel forecast.

Assist with cellar management and duties throughout the hotel, to include weekly ordering and monthly stock control alongside the Assistant F&B Manager.

Participate in duty management shifts around the hotel as required by the business.

Assist in delivering service standards and generally provide ongoing development to your team.

Ensuring all cash, charges, float and till procedures are adhered to and kept to in accordance of company policy and procedures.

To develop and understand the till systems end of day procedures, to maintain system with updates to menus both of food & beverage.

Ensure stock levels are maintained at all times to the correct stock holding targets and that orders are placed accordingly.

Adhere to achieve the correct GP margins across all selling lines by careful and proactive management.

Ensure all the bar staff are fully trained and that regular training and team meetings take place supporting the F&B Management team.

Participate in any project work set by the food & beverage management team.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, a positive 'can-do' attitude and the ability to develop good working relationships with staff members and command a management respect and presence.
