We have an exciting and unique opportunity for an experienced & driven Hotel Financial Controller to join our luxury hotel.
As Financial Controller you will be responsible for overseeing, directing and administering the financial operations of the hotel and will be held accountable for compliance activities as well as the accuracy, quality and timely delivery of all measurable outputs e.g. monthly accounting, budgeting and forecasting.
The Financial Controller will partner with internal and external stakeholders to drive and manage commercial operations, owner relations and financial planning and analysis activities as well as driving a high performing team culture.
Financial Controller key responsibilities are:
Manage and administer all financial operations of the hotel to include, but not limited to, asset protection, financial reporting, systems management, hotel-wide budget and forecasting, team management, and meeting participation and facilitation
Demonstrate full understanding of Management agreement and related fee implications, seeking confirmation of terms where necessary.
Monitor and approve purchases (Birchstreet), salaries and expenses of the hotel.
Solicit, review, and select contractors for capital improvement projects, providing financial oversight of the capital expenditure bid / RFP management process Permit &
License, Leases and Contracts (where not managed centrally).
Accountable for budgets and forecasts/projections as required (Annual, Revised Annual, Monthly, and/or on Corporate/Owner's requests) and all hotel financial reporting to team heads, hotel management, corporate office, and owners in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), USALI and Hotel guidelines.
Ultimate responsibility for the accuracy of hotel balance sheets ensuring inputs from SSC/COE and outsourced vendors are validated locally.
Interact with internal audit on findings from audit reviews and oversee resolution of findings (MAPS).
Direct and approve escalated issues experienced with shared services centre and third-party service providers (outsourcing provider, auditors, state and local tax authorities, banks) to ensure consistency, quality and timeliness of information and requests.
Ensure that all licenses, permits, and insurance policies are current and are in compliance with Irish law. Monitor all contracts and agreements and advise hotel management of the terms, conditions and benefits.
Oversee to ensure operations compliance with all internal controls.
Oversee payroll, supplier payments, tronc payments and guest billing to ensure accuracy.
Hire, manage, evaluate Operations Finance team members at the hotel - drive high performing culture.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.

Financial Controller will have:
Proven experience as a Hotel Financial Controller in luxury hotel or similar property size (essential)
Strategic thinker and strong commercial acumen with an eye for detail.
Exceptional communication and negotiation skills (all levels of management and external customers).
Possess advanced qualifications such as ACCA, CIMA, or MBA or actively studying towards final qualification.
Hands-on and have strong understanding of hotel systems, controls, financial processes and advanced skills in Excel.
Must have strong leadership skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
Strong organisational skills, and the ability to work within tight deadlines.
Knowledge of business law, federal,state & local taxes, as well as insurance, claims & liability.
