An opportunity has arisen to work for a long established (greater than 30 years) hotel located in Central London. We are looking for an individual who is not only reliable but also very organised and who likes to use their initiative. A fast learner, with excellent communication skills, a friendly character and someone with energy is desirable for this position. This role is for a Hotel Housekeeper.

The Company



We provide on-the-job training and an opportunity to meet an interesting cross-section of society from all over the world. Our guests may be tourists, people travelling on business, workers from other parts of England on short term projects and also guests travelling to use the nearby hospital facilities.

The Role



Attention to detail is key to providing spotless guestrooms that are in excellent condition ensuring every guest has a memorable experience. Housekeeping is also responsible for the care and upkeep of all public spaces.

The role of a Housekeeping Attendant is physically demanding and requires that candidates possess strong organisational skills and a passion for equating quality with cleanliness.

Housekeeping must also ensure the maintenance of all facilities, storage areas and kitchen equipment in an orderly and safe manner and they must demonstrate our standards and values in all interactions with both guests and colleagues. You will be working 8 hours per day and 6 days per week, with Saturday and/or Sunday being an important day of work, for which our client applies a 'working day rota system' with other relevant members of staff.

The Candidate



We are looking for an organised individual who takes their responsibilities seriously. This role is mainly customer facing and it is for this reason that the successful applicant must be presentable with a happy and positive character. We are looking for a methodical and well-organised individual with excellent communication skills. Good verbal English language skills are required.

Key Responsibilities



Maintains cleaning schedule priorities by following room assignment list

Servicing rooms (making beds, cleaning bathrooms and bedrooms, vacuuming, dusting, polishing)

Regular communication with Reception notifying of room availability, problems with room maintenance or the like

Ensures linen stocks are at correct levels

Maintains safe, secure, and clean work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with security regulations

Enhances housekeeping and hotel reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments

Ensuring the smooth running of the hotel kitchen operation, ensuring proper maintenance of all operating equipment and dish washing machines

Ensuring cleanliness and tidiness of all kitchen areas, dining room and store rooms to ensure that all hygiene and health and safety standards are met at all times

A customer focused individual who likes to maintain quality, cleanliness and is thorough in all that they do

Good verbal English language skills are required
Someone who is enjoys a physical role constantly moving, lifting, cleaning and attending to customer requirements

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 12.21-12.50 per hour

Expected hours: 36 per week
