As a Night Porter, you will become a vital part of our team providing the warmest of welcomes and exceptional customer service. You will ultimately be responsible for the safety and security of our guests as they sleep and will need to be able to react to their needs working on you own initiative.
Your day to day;
Checking in late arrivals, checking out early departures
Cleaning the property, assist with overnight closedown and setting up events space for upcoming weddings/events
Guest liaison throughout the night, including being first point of contact for any issues or complaints
Regular walk rounds of the building to check security
Ensuring the building and guests are safe and secure throughout
Helping set cafe bar for breakfast
Who are we looking for?
This Night Porter role is 24 hrs (typical hours - 11:30pm-8am) based upon 3/7 nights per week
Our Night Porter plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of our hotel, you will need to be a responsible and reliable person. We are looking for a hard-working individual who doesn't mind being a night owl, we require someone who has:
A genuine, warm professional manner
Good communication skills, and level of English - both written and spoken;
Excellent customer focus and teamwork skills, who is also a confident decision maker and effective when working on their own.
Strong attention to detail and to be IT savvy, ensuring we 'get it right first time' whether that be someone's room allocation, their bill or in just being intuitive enough to notice the details as small as what type of tea they like...
Ability to stay calm under pressure, taking any complications in your stride. Effortlessly deal with problems as they arise and ensure standards are maintained at all times.
Experience working overnights preferebly
Previous hotel experience and basic computer skills are an advantage, full training on systems used is provided.
A good level of physical fitness; and comfortable with lone working.
