Job Description

We are currently recruiting an experienced hotel receptionist (full-time) to join the team at Nira Caledonia. We are an outstanding 27-bedroom hotel located within the Stockbridge area of the New Town, Edinburgh. Nira Caledonia is a luxury boutique property and a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World.

This is a customer facing role, you will work on the main reception desk and take responsibility for supporting the hotel team in the day-to-day operations of the property in terms of providing outstanding customer service, security, health and safety and cleanliness. In addition to the duties of a hotel receptionist you will be required to respond to and fulfil guest queries and requests, assist guests with luggage (no lift), reply to emails, accurately input reservations, answer telephone enquiries, and complete end of shift departmental reports.

This role involves working between 5 shifts per week, 8 hours per day. There will be weekend work involved and the shift pattern involves Early and Late shift cover with the earliest start time of 07:00 and the latest finish time of 22.30.

The successful candidate will be able to clearly demonstrate:

Experience of using Opera Cloud or a similar hotel PMS Impeccable personal grooming standards Exemplary customer service standards with a luxury mindset A high level of concentration and attention to detail Fluent spoken and written English, other languages are a distinct advantage Team player, problem solving and strong work ethic Willingness to contribute towards the overall operation of the hotel by covering positions in other departments when required Good knowledge of Edinburgh and surrounding areas Recognise the importance of "sales" in every aspect of your role.
