Meikleour Estate, an historic country estate near Blairgowrie, is recruiting for a Hotel Receptionist for its award winning boutique hotel The Meikleour Arms (AA 4 Star Gold and 1 Rosette, AA Accommodations the Year Scotland 2022). Both a customer facing and office position, this is an excellent opportunity to work with a professional team.
Your main responsibilities will be:

Checking customers in and out of the hotel and ensuring guests have had an excellent experience. Responding to hotel enquiries and managing hotel reservation. Planning restaurant bookings for hotel residents while optimising sittings with restaurant visitors. After appropriate training you will be given financial related responsibilities whilst on shift, such as daily financial reconciliation, cashing-up and hotel guest billing and invoicing.

Remuneration:



- We are offering a very attractive package for this position 28080 a year for 40h a week plus around 3000 a year of expected tips.

- All recorded overtime hours are paid at : 15.13 (13.50/hour + holiday pay) + 1.50 expected tips = just over 16/hour with tips.

oNote about gratuities (tips): We use an HMRC compliant tronc system which ensures all of the hotel and restaurant's tips go to all of the staff. On average, staff can expect 1.50/ hour expected tips which combined is a very attractive package!

Hours of Work


You will be expected to work some morning and evening shifts, 5 days out of 7:
Typical Morning shift: 7:00 am- 3pm
Typical Evening shift: 2:30pm - 10:30pm

Requirements:



You will deliver a warm and welcoming experience, playing your part in making our Customer's stay at Meikleour Arms Hotel as exceptional as it can be Excellent customer service skills: written, in person, and over the phone Minimum 2 years previous experience either as a Receptionist or Bookkeeper with hospitality experience Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office Word and Excel Understanding of food safety standards and practices Meticulous and very numerate Compliant in everything Health & Safety

We are in a rural area with limited public transport, particularly on weekends. Having your own means of transport is deemed essential.*
