We are looking for a person to join our dedicated team. Sysonby Knoll Hotel is a 30-bedroom privately owned and run hotel with a restaurant open to non-residents.
The position would be perfect for someone with previous hospitality experience who either wishes to progress their career, or equally someone who is wishing to return to the hotel industry. It is a 'hands on' position covering all departments, so provides a varied role with the opportunity to learn all aspects of the hotel trade. The role may include reception, restaurant, housekeeping and kitchen work.
The number of hours available will depend on your skills, experience and availability and will be discussed in detail at interview but is likely to be between 24 and 40 hours per week. Shifts are on a flexible rota basis advised the previous week depending on the needs of the business between the hours of 06:45 and 23:00 and will include weekdays and weekends. Your normal rota will include alternate weekends off except for holiday cover etc.
You will join a small, close-knit team and will retain a close involvement with our guests which is often lost in larger establishments. Once settled into the role and with training and support we would anticipate that you will be able to run the entire operation during your shift. Communication with guests and responding to enquiries by telephone and email are an important aspect of the position and a good level of verbal and written English is therefore essential.
This role requires an enthusiastic and dedicated person with a passion for customer service and the willingness and ability to lead a small team. You may have experience in either front of house or restaurant but must be happy to develop your skills in both these areas. On-site accommodation could possibly be available to the right candidate if required.
