As House and Events Assistant, under the direction and line management of the House and Events Co-ordinator, you will support a team of Foundation staff in planning and preparation for conferences, events, and meetings as well as supporting events staff in providing a front of house service whilst guests are in residence both in the Ditchley Mansion and Ditchley London locations.

? When?not in event mode you?will?support?the House Team with basic administration tasks and light manual duties around the mansion, assisting with projects and daily care of the house.?Some tasks include but not limited to:

Provide support to the Events Team and wider house team during projects, event preparation and daily operations, carrying out basic administration, light manual tasks and occasional basic cleaning duties. With the Head of Operations, provide support at our London base. To include, setting up of room, meet and greet for guests, and providing drink service if required. When required, meet and greet guests to the main House, including delegates at conferences or meetings and guests for Lunches and Dinners. With the?Events Team, assist with setting up conference rooms?and meeting rooms in the?mansion and providing drinks service if required. Support the Head of Operations managing?the wine cellar, wine allocations?and other stocks of event consumables. Support the Butler with management?Servery?supplies, placing orders where necessary. Support the Events Team in ensuring the house is ready for events, preparing event materials such as badges, place names and menu cards. With the House and Events Coordinator provide a point of contact for guests during events, and the liaison between guests and the operational teams. Support Events Team with enquires through the Private Events mailbox. Co-ordinate requests for Private House Tours. Support co-ordination for Waiting Team rota by monitoring the Event Staff Mailbox Provide driving support for local trips for example, Charlbury train station, Charlbury town or Woodstock.

Work Pattern and Location



This role will be working 5 out of 7 days per week, with any weekend days shared on a rota with other team members. Some events will require early morning, usually 7am, or later night working.

Your role will be primarily based at The Ditchley Foundation, Enstone. However, 1-3 times per month you may be asked to assist with small scale events at our Ditchley London base, transport an subsistence expenses will be covered.

Experience working events in a historic environment Confident and customer-focused Flexible and adaptable Good verbal communication skills Computer literate: experience using?Microsoft?Office 365
