House Keeper

Fulltime Days/Nights, 40-hours a week

Role Purpose:

To provide and maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents, visitors, and staff. The Housekeeper plays a vital role in ensuring high standards of hygiene and presentation throughout the home, contributing to residents' comfort, dignity, and overall wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out daily cleaning of residents' rooms, bathrooms, communal lounges, dining areas, and office spaces. Ensure infection control standards are upheld, particularly in high-touch and high-risk areas. Manage laundry services, including washing, drying, ironing, and returning clothes and linen in good condition. Maintain stock levels of cleaning products and ensure safe storage in line with COSHH regulations. Report any maintenance or repair needs promptly to the management team. Dispose of waste safely and hygienically, adhering to infection prevention guidelines. Support residents by respecting their privacy and dignity while carrying out cleaning duties in their personal spaces. Participate in training and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety requirements. Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain a homely and pleasant environment for all.

Requirements:

Previous experience in housekeeping, ideally within a care home, hospital, or hospitality environment. Understanding of infection prevention, control measures, and cleaning protocols. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Good organisational skills and attention to detail. Compassionate, respectful, and sensitive to residents' needs.

Desirable:

Knowledge of COSHH and Health & Safety regulations. Experience of working with elderly or vulnerable individuals.
