Household has ambitious plans to replicate the strong market position of our UK Motor business. To achieve this, we are evolving the Risk Team within Household to place effective risk management at the heart of what we do - providing risk SME support to our senior leadership and risk owners.
As the Household Conduct & Regulatory Risk Operations Manager, your primary objective will be to support the delivery of robust conduct and regulatory risk management within Household. You will support actions to embed group-wide and regulatory requirements into day-to-day operations, ensuring risks are identified, assessed, and managed effectively. You will work closely with Risk & Support teams and stakeholders across the business to influence strategy and help guide Household Risk Owners regarding key decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Household Conduct & Regulatory Risk Specialists to maintain the Household conduct and regulatory risk profile.
Champion a strong conduct risk culture, ensuring customer-centricity and regulatory compliance are embedded into decision-making.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external service providers to ensure timely and effective completion of conduct and regulatory risk activities.
Work with risk and compliance colleagues to translate regulatory expectations into Household operational requirements in line with internal policies and standards, ensuring they are understood and implemented effectively.
Provide support and guidance to Risk Owners regarding conduct risk responsibilities and the development of risk mitigation strategies and actions.
Support the creation and monitoring of conduct-related controls, recommending improvements and the operation of a robust Household conduce risk control environment.
Lead the development and tracking of Household conduct and regulatory risk indicators.
Drive continuous improvement in conduct risk management practices, collaborating with risk colleagues to share insights and best practice.
Prepare and deliver Household conduct and regulatory risk reporting to senior leadership and governance fora, highlighting key trends, action plans and learnings.
Stay abreast of regulatory developments, industry trends, and emerging conduct risks, ensuring proactive risk management.
Promote and uphold the organisation's culture and values, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and ethical standards.
Mentor and develop team members, fostering a pipeline of future conduct and regulatory risk professionals.
Skills & Experience Required
Strong understanding of conduct and regulatory risk within the UK general insurance market.
Experience in applying relevant regulatory frameworks in a 1st line operational context.
Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical operational actions.
Skilled in identifying conduct risk exposures and designing proportionate mitigation strategies.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across all levels of the organisation.
Experience in control design, monitoring, and reporting within a regulated environment.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
Previous experience in a conduct or regulatory risk role within financial services, ideally in general insurance.
Professional qualifications in risk management, compliance, or insurance are desirable but not essential.
