To assist the Housekeeping Team in ensuring the well-being of the residents by providing a comfortable, clean, safe and healthy living environment.
Our housekeeping team have an important role to play in the delivery of service to residents and in the promotion of the Society to visitors, friends and in the community.
Responsibilities
Staff will, under the direction of the Head of Housekeeping and in accordance with the Society's Policies and Procedures:
1. Deliver support services to residents to include:
Cleaning
: In accordance with the cleaning rota, ensure that residents' apartments and all communal areas are kept to the highest standard of cleanliness.
Laundry
: In accordance with the rota carry out a personal laundry and ironing service for residents.
2. Ensure residents needs are met whilst promoting and encouraging independence.
3. Ensure all apartments are maintained at required temperatures and are well ventilated.
4. Ensure resident safety is monitored at all times.
5. Communicate at all times with other staff, residents, family and friends in a respectful manner.
6. Comply and make yourself familiar with all the Society's Policies and Procedures.
7. Participate in new start induction and attend all relevant training as required.
8. Work effectively with the Head of Housekeeping and the other staff teams in maintaining effective communication and excellent working relationships.
9. Ensure a comprehensive handover is given to the next staff member coming on duty.
10. Any other duties as required by the Head of Housekeeping, to assist the delivery of the functions of Abbeyfield Belfast.
Staff will be required to perform any other reasonable duties as may be deemed necessary by the Head of Housekeeping. This job description may be reviewed at any time.
About You
You must have/be:
At least 1 years experience working in housekeeping
Strong verbal and written communication skills
A warm, approachable manner with the ability to engage with older people
A positive team player with a can-do attitude
Energetic, enthusiastic, and reliable
Excellent personal presentation and hygiene standards
Great attention to detail
Medically fit and able to perform duties as required
A valid right to work in the UK
