Job Overview

We are seeking dedicated Housekeepers to deliver high quality professional services to our Clients in the North Devon Area. Flexible hours to be agreed. We have a waiting list for Barnstaple, Fremington, Combe Martin, South Molton and other areas.

Responsibilities

To carry out household tasks for clients including tidying, dusting, hoovering, washing floors and surfaces, cleaning kitchens and bathrooms

To change beds, undertake washing and ironing and put laundry away

To defrost and clean fridges and freezes, clean ovens and microwaves

To empty and clean bins, putting dustbins out or bringing them in as necessary

Quality, Health and Safety and Monitoring

To be punctual and wear appropriate clothing including the Age Concern branded clothes and ID Badge so clients can easily identify Age Concern Housekeepers

Feedback any concerns and updates to risk assessments

At all times behave in a manner consistent with Age Concern values, providing the best possible client care

Personal Development

Attend Induction Training and understand safeguarding, lone working, confidentiality and emergency procedures

Attend further training, including dementia awareness, communicating with older people and identifying self-neglect, to ensure a good understanding of older people's needs and how best to support them

Participate in one-to-one support sessions with the service manager including an annual appraisal

Experience

Excellent cleaning skills with attention to detail and high standards Understanding of older people's needs, empathy and compassion Working in people's homes
REQUIREMENTS

The legal right to work in the UK

A valid driving licence and use of a car insured for business use. Use of public transport could be possible in certain areas

Experience of undertaking household tasks and completing them to a high standard

A desire to support older people

Awareness of services to support older people in North Devon

Working for a charity

Pay: 12.60 per hour

Expected hours: 2 - 25 per week
