About Us:

Nazareth House Care Village is an 88-bed care home dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to our residents. We are currently seeking a Housekeeper to join our friendly team on a permanent, part-time basis.

Purpose of the Job:

To maintain a clean, tidy, and hygienic environment at all times, mindful that it is the residents' home; thereby respecting the individual's right to privacy, dignity, and independence. All tasks are to be carried out in a courteous, friendly, and efficient manner.

Job Summary:

As a Housekeeper, you will play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents. Training will be provided, and responsibilities will focus on day-to-day cleaning tasks, infection control, and working as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out daily cleaning duties in residents' rooms, communal areas, and bathrooms. Follow infection control and hygiene standards at all times. Ensure proper use of cleaning products and equipment. Maintain a tidy and organized work environment ("clean as you go" policy). Work collaboratively with the team to ensure high standards of cleanliness. Report any maintenance or safety issues promptly. Perform additional tasks as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor.

Detailed Cleaning Duties:

Communal Areas (Sitting Rooms, Lounges, Corridors)

Move chairs out from walls and dust each one. Wash waterproof surfaces (tables, footrests, seats, window sills). Damp dust TV screens and electronics. Empty waste bins and refresh flowers. High dust weekly; vacuum floors and replace chairs. Disinfect telephones and clock-in machine.

Nurse's Station

Clean wash-hand basin and dust surfaces. Empty domestic waste and vacuum floor.

Bathrooms/Toilets/Sluices

Disinfect bath hoist and wash bath/shower. Clean basins, taps, toilets, and handles. Wash mirrors, refill dispensers, and mop floors. High damp-dust weekly; wash shower curtains every 3 months or when soiled.

Residents' Bedrooms

Elevate electric profiling beds daily. High dust weekly; damp dust lockers, chairs, and window sills daily. Sweep/vacuum and mop floors daily. Refresh flowers and empty waste bins.

Qualifications & Skills:

No formal experience required; full training provided. Ability to work as part of a team and follow instructions. Good communication skills and attention to detail. Flexibility to work weekends (one weekend on, one weekend off).

Hours & Benefits:

25 hours per week, part-time permanent. Competitive pay: 12.21 per hour. Overtime available if interested. * Supportive team environment with training and development opportunities.
