Hours:

20 hours a week, inc. every other weekend.

Rate of Pay

: 12.21 per hour. Paid monthly salary

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Housekeeper to maintain the cleanliness, safety, and presentation of our Garden Centre indoor and outdoor areas. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, the ability to work independently, and a proactive attitude in supporting a welcoming and tidy environment for our customers and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

Clean and sanitise customer areas, including restrooms, staff rooms, offices, and cafe Sweep, mop, and maintain indoor flooring and outdoor pathways Collect and dispose of litter and organic debris from across the premises. Restock cleaning and hygiene supplies in staff and customer facilities. Clean glass doors, windows, and display units. Assist in setting up and tidying areas before and after events or peak trading periods. Safely use cleaning tools and chemicals in accordance with health and safety standards. Identify and report maintenance or safety issues promptly.

Working Conditions:

Work Environment: Combination of indoor and outdoor environments including greenhouses, retail spaces, and public restrooms.

Exposure: Regular exposure to weather conditions (rain, sun, wind), dirt, dust, and plant materials.

Physical Demands: Standing and walking for long periods, lifting to 30 lbs, bending, reaching, and using cleaning equipment.

Chemical Use: Routine handling of cleaning agents and disinfectants (with appropriate PPE provided).

Schedule: Includes weekdays, weekends, and public holidays. Early morning or evening shifts may be required depending on business needs.

Risk Factors: Slippery surfaces, uneven outdoor ground, exposure to pests/insects, and contact with mild garden-related chemicals.

Qualifications & Skills:

Previous housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred. Ability to work independently and take initiative. Good physical stamina and attention to detail. Basic understanding of cleaning products and safety procedures. Friendly and professional attitude toward staff and customers.
