To conduct domestic, laundry and housekeeping duties to all residents on a daily basis ensuring the care home is cleaned and maintained to the highest standard
Ensure all Health and Safety and Environmental health standards are achieved and maintained
Kitchen Assistant:
Under the direction of the Cook, assist with meals for the residents of the Care Home
Together with the Cook, ensure that a high standard of food preparation is maintained and to implement the requirements as set out by the Environment Health Requirements for the home and current Food Safety legislation including HACCP
Ensure that the Kitchen and associated areas fully conform to the requirement as laid down under Health and safety at work legislation

Participate in staff meetings and in staff training where applicable
Report and record in the appropriate manner any information considered to be important to the Home Manager
Adhere to Rosmead Healthcare's policies and procedures
Any other duties that the post holder may reasonably be expected to perform
KITCHEN ASSISTANT:
To conform to the Care Homes Hygiene Policy and in particular, critical points/hazard analysis
Personal appearance must be of an acceptable level: uniform provided must be worn, hair covered and tied back. Sensible enclosed non-slip shoes to be worn
To participate in staff meetings and in staff training where applicable
To report and record in the appropriate manner any information considered to be important.
To adhere to the Rosmead Healthcare policies and procedures
Functional: -
HOUSEKEEPING:
Ensure that a good standard of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained throughout the Care Home, to meet the required standards of practice prescribed by Environmental Health Standards
To conform to the Care Home's Food Hygiene procedures
Ensure all equipment used is well maintained, in good working order and to log any defects and report the Homes Manager
Work closely with the Head of Housekeeping to ensure cleaning and laundry services are provided to the appropriate standards to residents
Support the Head of Housekeeping to maintain in accurate stock control
KITCHEN ASSISTANT:
To ensure that a good standard of hygiene and cleanliness is maintained throughout the Kitchen and dining room, as set down by the Environmental Health requirements and as directed by your Manager
To ensure all equipment used is well maintained and in good working order and to report any defects to the Cook as required
Under the direction of the Cook, assist in Kitchen tasks connected with the preparation, cooking and presentation of meals and beverages whilst ensuring the highest quality
To carry out general kitchen and dining room duties, such as setting up cleaning tables, washing up, serving meals etc
To ensure that the storage of all cleaning materials conforms to the Care Home's COSHH requirements
To put away all deliveries promptly and ensure the stock room, refrigerators and freezers are kept clean and accessible
Where appropriate, assume the duties and responsibilities of the Cook when required, and /or carry out duties at the request of the Management team
Communication: -

Willing to attend such training sessions that are deemed necessary by Line Management
Aptitude towards continuous training and development

Knowledge/Qualifications
Understanding of and clear commitment to COSHH, Health and Safety practices

Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (can be arranged as part of in-house induction)
Previous Kitchen experiences within a large scale operation (preferrable)
First Aid Certificate (desirable)
