Golden Manors Nursery is seeking a reliable and dedicated

Housekeeping Assistant

to help maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our children, families, staff and visitors. This role is essential in supporting high standards of hygiene and infection control across the nursery.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out daily cleaning duties, including mopping floors, dusting, emptying bins and cleaning toilets/washrooms. Operate cleaning equipment such as vacuums and carpet washers. Maintain sanitary, infection-free conditions and follow all safety and cleaning procedures. Handle cleaning chemicals safely and in line with COSHH guidance. Ensure cleaning materials are stocked and report when replacements are needed. Check rooms for cleanliness, freshness and hazards, especially in play areas. Report urgent repairs to management and record non-urgent maintenance issues. Complete the daily cleaning checklist. Undertake additional reasonable duties as requested by management.

A responsible, flexible and hardworking individual. Good understanding of Health & Safety and willingness to follow infection-control procedures. Ability to lift and carry cleaning equipment. Respect for confidentiality and commitment to safeguarding children. Willingness to support nursery values and initiatives, including Eco School, Healthy Pre-School, Quality for All, Forest School and Welsh activities. A team player who can work collaboratively with staff and management.

Additional Information

This post is exempt from The Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 as the position involves working within the close proximity of young children. The post holder will be required to undertake an enhanced DBS disclosure.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: From 12.25 per hour
