Role: To deliver high quality and timely domestic duties throughout Penrice House ensuring the health and well-being and dignity of the Home's residents and staff.
Main duties and responsibilities:
To undertake general cleaning duties throughout the Home (e.g. bathroom and toilet areas, carpet cleaning, window cleaning etc.) as directed by the Senior Cares and Manager and as per the cleaning schedule.
To ensure that the cleaning schedules and accurately recorded on a daily basis.
To assist with cleaning maintenance checks as directed and appropriate for areas within the home.
Responsible to undertake and maintain the cleanliness and hygiene of resident's room as agreed with the resident, to include, (e.g. waste paper bins, cleaning sinks, toilets and general room dusting etc.).
To use appropriate infection control measures with regards to the cleaning of vomit, faeces, urine and other hazardous substances.
To wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment and to report any damage or replacements that you may require.
To support with general dining room duties (e.g. Table laying, and cleaning tables and chairs).
To undertake assisting resident's food trays at mealtimes as required , and support the kitchen with dishes daily.
Responsible to assist in the laundry as required (e.g. ironing, simple mending, sorting, packaging and delivery of resident's laundry if required)
To replenish cleaning products and toiletries as necessary and appropriate and to report any shortages for reordering.
To ensure the general emptying of bins and removal of rubbish for daily and weekly waste collections, ensuring that hazardous substances are disposed of in the appropriate receptacles.
To report to the Senior Care or Manager any safeguard or significant issues accurately, immediately and in compliance with the Penrice House policy and procedure.
To ensure that you follow and regularly keep up-to-date any cleaning plans, including 'deep cleans'. To ensure that all cleaning records and schedule are recorded daily.
To observe confidentiality at all times. To always act with both personal and professional integrity and respect for others, when liaising with other as part of the Penrice House team.
To ensure that your practice and your work is within the principles laid out in The Health and Safety at Work guidance, Care Quality Commission regulatory guidance, Equality Act 2010 regulations and COSHH.
Position will require alternate weekend working
You are required to undertake statutory and mandatory training and development, along with regular supervision time and meetings to maintain your role.
